This purpose-built, two-storey Medical Centre is located close to the centre of Consett, County Durham, on old railway sidings in a regeneration area. The practice’s patient catchment area includes the outlying villages, some of which formed part of the Durham coal fields to the south east. The development, completed in 1999 and opened by the then Minister for Health, was extended in 2004.

A multi-occupancy site, primary care services include minor surgery, physiotherapy, health promotion and training. Additional floor area is sub-let to County Durham NHS Trust to accommodate community services, outreach and nurses offices. The surgery has been extended to provide further consulting and treatment rooms, together with an independent pharmacy, with over 50 parking spaces.
