The Healthcare Property Company Wales Develops Modern Surgery In Brynhyfryd

10th February 2016

The Healthcare Property Company Wales will be developing a modern primary care centre in the village of Brynhyfryd from February 2016.

Once complete, the building will allow for more medical services to be delivered to the local community a long-awaited and much-needed resource for those living in the area.

The 1,290 square metre custom built surgery will contain a modern reception area, 7 consultation rooms, 2 treatment rooms and have the facility to carry out minor operations. This means that patients can receive a greater proportion of their healthcare treatment in one place thereby reducing the necessity to visit a hospital. There will also be a small clinical space for the local health board and a Lewis Chemist pharmacy with staff and patient parking to the front of the building.

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to develop such a wonderful facility for the patients, doctors and staff of the Health Board and Brynhyfryd Surgery and know they will all enjoy this new facility for years to come.  I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the support and hard work of the Doctors, led by Dr, Lynne Rees; the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, the MedicX Fund and our professional team” – Paul Stacey, HPC Wales Managing Director.

Financed by MedicX Fund and developed by HPC Wales, the new surgery is expected to reach completion by the end of the year. The centre will be situated just a short distance from the existing practice and is being designed to achieve BREEAM very good and excellent for energy.
